Millennium is 2-7 against Desert Edge since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will face off against the Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. Millennium knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Desert Edge likes a good challenge.
It was a proper cat-fight when Millennium faced off against Canyon View on Friday. The Tigers took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars.

Despite their defeat, Millennium saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rayden Reibel, who threw for 279 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 73 yards and one score on only nine carries, was perhaps the best of all. A healthy portion of Reibel's aerial production (113 yards to be exact) went to Kadin Johnson, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Desert Edge strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Kellis 60-14. The result was nothing new for the Scorpions, who have now won six games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Desert Edge's win came from a few key players Millennium will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Byron Brandon, who rushed for 151 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.4 rushing yards per game. Blake Roskopf was another key signal caller, throwing for 243 yards and five TDs while completing 80% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Desert Edge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Desert Edge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Antonio Para and Kayden Ali. Para is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Desert Edge received some extra help from Para, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Desert Edge's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Millennium, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Millennium has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 459.6 total yards per game. However, it's not like Desert Edge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 391.7 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Millennium was taken down by Desert Edge 40-13 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 33-6.
