The matchup between the ESAT Grizzlies and the University Prep Value Wolves on Thursday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. ESAT was dealt a 84-54 loss at the hands of University Prep Value. ESAT has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, ESAT saw an underclassman step up: Jonah Vasquez scored 20 points. Vasquez scored a full 37% of ESAT's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Niel Gabriel Sanchez, who scored 12 points.
ESAT's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for University Prep Value, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Academia Avance the next time they take the court. University Prep Value will host Academia Avance at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while ESAT will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
