Lakeshore came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklinton and snuck past 31-28. That's another feather in the cap for Lakeshore, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lakeshore found their leader in underclassman Oudrey Gros, who rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Gros is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
Lakeshore's win was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 5-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Washington-Marion and 3-7 Franklinton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.1% over those games). Lakeshore will look to defend their home field on Friday against DeRidder at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (DeRidder is ranked 107th, while Lakeshore is ranked 129th).
