Damonte Ranch is 1-9 against Bishop Manogue since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Damonte Ranch Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Bishop Manogue Miners at 7:00 p.m. Damonte Ranch will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Even though Damonte Ranch has not done well against Spanish Springs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Damonte Ranch enjoyed a cozy 74-60 victory over Spanish Springs. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Damonte Ranch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jiro Basabas, who scored 20 points along with six assists and four steals. Jace Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue was able to grind out a solid victory over Galena on Friday, taking the game 61-49. The win was just what Bishop Manogue needed coming off of a 86-59 loss in their prior matchup.
Bishop Manogue relied on the efforts of James Williams, who scored 15 points along with two blocks, and Liam Sorensen, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamahl Jackson, who scored six points along with two steals.
Damonte Ranch pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Bishop Manogue, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Damonte Ranch hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 65.8 points per game. It's a different story for Bishop Manogue, though, as they've been averaging only 51.6 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Damonte Ranch strolled past Bishop Manogue when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 63-48. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Williams, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
