The Scotland County Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Atlanta Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Scotland County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Last Wednesday, Scotland County took a serious blow against Westran, falling 54-26. While losing is never fun, Scotland County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Westran is ranked 156th).
Meanwhile, Atlanta's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a hard 57-39 fall against Green City. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Atlanta in their matchups with Green City: they've now lost four in a row.
Scotland County has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Atlanta, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
Scotland County came up short against Atlanta in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 52-39. Can Scotland County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
