Basketball Recap: Farmington Piles Up the Points Against Kennett

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Farmington). They claimed a resounding 71-43 win over the Kennett Indians. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 25 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Kennett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyce Edwards almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine boards. That was a full 74.4% of Kennett's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

The victory (which was Farmington's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Kennett, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farmington will host Oakville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kennett, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Malden at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
