Mount Airy Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. Their rough 49-27 defeat to Cumberland Valley Christian might stick with them for a while. Mount Airy Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cumberland Valley Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
Several Mount Airy Christian Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reaghan Sizemore, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Pier, who scored two points along with ten rebounds.
Cumberland Valley Christian found their leader in underclassman Makenna Morris, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Morris scored 15 or more points. Victoria Price was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Mount Airy Christian Academy are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13. As for Cumberland Valley Christian, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Airy Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Greater Grace Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. Greater Grace Christian Academy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Cumberland Valley Christian, Cumberland Valley Christian and Shalom Christian Academy will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Shalom Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
