The Cannelton Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Christian Academy at home and fell 48-9. Cannelton has not had much luck with Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cannelton struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Christian Academy racked up eight assists.
Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Stevens out in front who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Carly Stevens, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Cannelton dropped their record down to 1-18 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cannelton will take on Frederick Fraize at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Frederick Fraize has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. As for Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Indianapolis Washington at 6:00 p.m.
