West Florence is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Darlington is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Knights will welcome the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Darlington's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: West Florence hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand Ridge View a 14-0 shutout on Tuesday.
Jayde Perugini was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Charisma Williams was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Marshall, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1.
West Florence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Darlington). They blew past Crestwood 20-4 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won eight in a row.
Darlington got a massive performance out of Carly Gainey, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Zaria Mack was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
West Florence has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Darlington, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Florence has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Darlington struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Florence took their win against Darlington in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 14-3 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
