The Mishawaka Marian Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Bend St. Joseph Huskies at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
 Mishawaka Marian had to hit the road for their first game and  sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of NorthWood by a score of  14-13 on Tuesday. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
  Cameron Bortone made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 Even though they lost, Mishawaka Marian  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with ten  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as NorthWood only tossed six.
 Meanwhile, South Bend St. Joseph gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Monday. They had just enough and edged Warsaw out  8-6.
  Owen Balint and  Owen Futa did most of the damage at the plate:  Balint  went 2-for-3 with four  RBI and a  double, while  Futa  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brady Langager, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 Mishawaka Marian beat South Bend St. Joseph 9-5  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023. Does  Mishawaka Marian have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Bend St. Joseph turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
