The Tioga Bulldogs lost against the Collinsville Pirates back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Tioga opened the new year with a less-than-successful 54-46 defeat to Collinsville. Tioga has struggled against Collinsville recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Tioga lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jake David, who scored 15 points. Kyson Kirkland was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Carter Scott was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds for Collinsville. Scott is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Carpenter, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Tioga's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Collinsville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Tioga will head out on the road to face off against Era at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Collinsville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Alvord at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in Alvord's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
