Riverside Prep's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy as they made off with a 19-0 win. The Silver Knights have beaten Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy has come to flipping the script.
Bree Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other pitching news, Sadie Martinez looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Daisy Hernandez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Meeka Martinez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Riverside Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Victor Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Silverado, falling 27-6.
Andrea Garcia and Ruby Avila stepped up to the plate in a big way. Garcia went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Avila scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Riverside Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Victor Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Riverside Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. However, it's not like Victor Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
