Kenwood has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Northeast Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Kenwood was the victim of a tough 50-29 defeat at the hands of the Vikings.
Despite the defeat, Kenwood saw an underclassman step up: Sy?nya Seay scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Seay scored 15 or more points.
Meanwhile, Northeast took a serious blow against the Wildcats on Wednesday, falling 84-31. While losing is never fun, Northeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Wildcats are ranked 25th).
Kenwood's loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.1 points per game. As for Northeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Kenwood couldn't quite finish off the Eagles in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 45-42. Thankfully for Kenwood, Aubrey Hagins (who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
