The Harlem Huskies's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over Belvidere. The victory was just what Harlem needed coming off of a 69-40 loss in their prior match.
Leading Harlem to victory were Mason Walsh and Bo Beehler. Walsh scored 7 points along with 15 rebounds and 4 steals, while Beehler scored 12 points along with 7 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Perera, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Harlem's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Belvidere, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Harlem will be playing in front of their home fans against Freeport at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Belvidere, they will head out on the road to face off against Rockford Auburn at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Rockford Auburn presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Belvidere in Illinois (Rockford Auburn is ranked 270th, while Belvidere is ranked 642nd).
