The North Clayton Eagles took a 17-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jonesboro Cardinals. While the Eagles had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Cardinals 6-0.

It was another big night for Brianna Mason, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes, and also rushed for 56 yards on only five carries for Jonesboro.
North Clayton dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jonesboro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
North Clayton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 27-6 win against M.L. King on the 13th. Jonesboro has also already played their next game, a 19-6 victory against Mt. Zion on the 20th.
