Resurrection Christian is 8-1 against the Broncos since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Resurrection Christian Cougars will be playing at home against the Platte Valley Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Resurrection Christian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Broncos in Colorado (the Cougars are ranked 17th, while the Broncos are ranked 171st).
Resurrection Christian stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to University for the full four quarters, racking up a 89-37 victory on the road. With Resurrection Christian ahead 41-21 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Resurrection Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cade Crutcher, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crutcher has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Barker, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Platte Valley had to settle for a 55-53 loss against the Eagles on Friday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Braylon Edstrom, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Talyn Short, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Platte Valley were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Common only racked up nine assists.
Resurrection Christian pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 51.7 points. As for Platte Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Resurrection Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Platte Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Resurrection Christian's way against the Broncos in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the Cougars made off with a 56-34 victory.
