The Wawasee Warriors had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against South Bend Riley by a score of 35-26 on Friday.
Hunter Tinkey had a dynamite game for Wawasee, rushing for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Tinkey was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Wawasee also got help from Donovan Blair who showed off his sure hands for 91 receiving yards.
Austin White and Payton Baird certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. White threw for 259 yards and four touchdowns, while Baird picked up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wawasee's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for South Bend Riley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Wawasee will head out on the road to face off against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Bend Riley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
