The Eagle Valley Devils had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 55-38 victory over Grand Junction on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eagle Valley also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eagle Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josie Fitzsimmons, who scored 20 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fitzsimmons has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zakia Shreeve, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Eagle Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Grand Junction, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle Valley will take on Montrose at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Montrose has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Grand Junction, they will head out on the road to square off against Fruita Monument at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fruita Monument focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
