Alex Giammanco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Pacific Grove let Savannah Hardy and Isis Turner run wild. Hardy went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double, while Turner went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Turner has posted since back in March of 2024. Ella Lee was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.
Pacific Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in four consecutive games.
Pacific Grove's record is now 12-6. As for Carmel, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Carmel has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like Pacific Grove struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
