The Northwood Temple Academy Eagles managed to keep up with the Trinity Christian Crusaders until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Northwood Temple Academy suffered a rough 83-61 loss at the hands of Trinity Christian. Northwood Temple Academy has not had much luck with Trinity Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Northwood Temple Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kenny Vera. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vera has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Winston Waite, who scored 14 points.
Justin Caldwell was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 47 points and 13 rebounds for Trinity Christian. Caldwell has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Linwood Rowe, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Northwood Temple Academy has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-9 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 23-5.
