Football Recap: Whitefish Bay Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cedarburg last Friday, Whitefish Bay came back down to earth. The contest between the Blue Dukes and the Slinger Owls didn't end well, with the Blue Dukes falling 56-39. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (35), the Blue Dukes still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Whitefish Bay lost on Friday, don't look at Lateef Love. Despite the final result, he rushed for 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also caught one score. Love also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Blue Dukes are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Mace Miskel was in the mix as well, providing Whitefish Bay with two TDs.

Whitefish Bay dropped their record down to 3-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Slinger, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
