Heritage (Romoland, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 48-28 win over
Temescal Canyon (Lake Elsinore, Calif.).
The Patriots scored 21 points in the first quarter. Heritage scored on a kick return touchdown by
Jalen Glover, a touchdown pass by
Brett Virgil to
Limihai Hifo and an
Isaiah Morrow touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Glover in the first quarter, HHS was up 34-15 at the half.
Heritage's standout player in the win was
Kyle Hernandez. He kicked six extra points.
The defeat comes as a step back for Temescal Canyon, who notched a 35-7 victory over Lakeside in its previous outing. The loss ended Temescal Canyon's three-game winning streak. The win brought Heritage's winning streak to three games.
In a Sunbelt game next week Heritage (6-1) takes on Paloma Valley, and Temescal Canyon (3-4) will go up against Elsinore also in a Sunbelt game.
