Coleville are packing up and hiking across state lines for their matchup on Friday. They will challenge Round Mountain on the road at 7:00 PM. Coleville will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Mineral County and Coleville were playing football. Coleville took a 64-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mineral County. Despite the loss, Coleville saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Ernesto Sandoval passed for 367 yards and 8 touchdowns. In fact, with 11 tackles Casanova was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Round Mountain, and their match last Saturday only extended their streak of losses to three. They have to be aching after a bruising 24-50 defeat to Smith Valley last Saturday. Round Mountain were down by 18-38 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
