Parker has gone 8-2 against Jackson-Olin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Thundering Herd will square off against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Parker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Parker made easy work of Shades Valley and carried off an 8-2 victory. Considering the Thundering Herd have won 17 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Courterius Bedgood made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Jordan Willis was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Elliott, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Parker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shades Valley only posted an OBP of .323.
Jackson-Olin let Woodlawn stack seven runs on them in the first inning on Monday but luckily Jackson-Olin prevailed anyway. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Colonels with a sharp 14-7 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the contest before.
The team relied heavily on Wylam Wright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Chauncey Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Jackson-Olin's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13. As for Parker, their record is now 21-8.
Parker got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Jackson-Olin by a conclusive 25-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thundering Herd since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
