The home team had won the previous five meetings between Apple Valley and Lakeville South, and Apple Valley kept the tradition alive. The Eagles walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Cougars on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Cougars back in April, they had to take a 6-1 loss.

Apple Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season. As for Lakeville South, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Apple Valley will take on rival Lakeville North at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lakeville South is set to challenge their familiar foe Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.1, the Tigers 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
