If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Hilldale. On Friday they will take on Stilwell at 7:00 PM. Hilldale know how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Stilwell like a good challenge.
Last Friday, Hilldale put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Fort Gibson to the tune of 55-14. No one put up better numbers for Hilldale than senior Devin Hembry, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 184 yards and 4 touchdowns. That makes it five straight good games in a row from Hembry.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Stilwell, and their contest last Thursday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They came up short against Central, falling 51-58. Yes, you read that final score correctly. Yes, this was football.
Hilldale's win lifted them to 7-1 while Stilwell's defeat dropped them down to 0-7. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Stilwell and Hilldale will really light up the scoreboard.
