North Marion's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Newport Cubs with a sharp 14-7 win. Considering the Huskies have won four games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

North Marion's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Newport, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. North Marion will challenge rival Stayton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Newport is set to square off against their familiar foe Sweet Home at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
