Caleb Wise was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Heritage Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Titus Britner, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Heritage Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Grace Academy came up short against Saint James on Thursday and fell 13-9. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost six in a row.
Ryder Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Michael Berry was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Heritage Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Grace Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
