Two dominant guards in Brian Singleton and Keiontay Marsh are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Conrad Chargers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Adams Cougars at 8:00 p.m. Conrad is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Conrad had to suffer through a rough 61-32 loss at the hands of Seagoville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Conrad in their matchups with Seagoville: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though Adams has not done well against West Mesquite recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Adams walked away with a 58-48 win over West Mesquite. The win was just what Adams needed coming off of a 60-38 defeat in their prior match.
Adams' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terell Toomas, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jonah Pacheco was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Conrad has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-17 record this season. As for Adams, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-18 record this season.
Conrad beat Adams 60-47 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Conrad repeat their success, or does Adams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
