Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Penasco). They breezed by the Clayton Yellowjackets to the tune of 52-17 on Friday. The score was close at the half, but the Panthers pulled away in the second half with 40 points.

Penasco got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rochelle Lopez out in front who posted 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Katalina Atencio was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Penasco's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Clayton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Penasco didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-40 defeat against Los Alamos on the 11th. Clayton has also already played their next contest, a 63-29 loss against Des Moines on the 11th.
