Pleasant Grove hasn't had much luck against Springville recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings will take on the Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. Springville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Pleasant Grove, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Pleasant Grove earned a 9-5 victory over Wasatch. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
Olivia Barnes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, Allyson Young was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maya Pawelek, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Springville faced Maple Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Red Devils fell 7-3 to the Eagles. The matchup marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Allyx Haveron made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaz Ciliezar, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Springville's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Pleasant Grove, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Springville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Pleasant Grove couldn't quite get it done against Springville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
