Burlington is 0-3 against Peyton since April of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Cougars will head out to take on the Panthers at 11:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Burlington made easy work of Stratton and carried off a 12-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Darian McDonough and Lenny Ramirez did most of the damage at the plate: McDonough went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles, while Ramirez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Burlington is 2-1 when Ramirez posts three or more RBI, but 2-8 otherwise. Hayden Woller also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Peyton got the win against Kiowa on Monday by a conclusive 13-3. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Bryce Love was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brayden Nonaka, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Peyton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Burlington's record is now 4-9. As for Peyton, their record now sits at 9-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Burlington hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Peyton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Burlington couldn't quite get it done against Peyton when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
