Lakewood hasn't had much luck against Squalicum recently, but that could start to change  on Monday. The Lakewood Cougars will challenge the Squalicum Storm at 6:00  p.m. Lakewood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2  points per game  this season.
Lakewood will bounce into Monday's   matchup after  beating Sehome, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Lakewood snuck past Sehome with  a  49-43 victory on Friday.
 Lakewood can attribute much of their success to   Janelle Bagtas, who  posted 12 points, and   Karly Stewart, who  put up nine  points and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Emma Tocco, who  had six  points.
 Meanwhile, Squalicum suffered their biggest  loss since January 18th on Friday. They were beaten by Lynden 61-27. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings  (they are ranked 96th, while the Lions are ranked first).
 Squalicum's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Lakewood, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
 Lakewood suffered a grim  67-42 defeat to Squalicum  in their previous meeting  back in December of 2024. Can Lakewood avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
