Loyd Star and Amite County are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Loyd Star's defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so Amite County's offense will have their work cut out for them.
While Loyd Star's win against Franklin County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Thursday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Kees and Bailey. Kees just won't slow down this season and has thrown 1 touchdown while averaging 11.8 passing yards per game. Bailey has been a dominant force too and has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 102.2 rushing yards per game.
Everything went Loyd Star's way against Amite County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Loyd Star made off with a 30-6 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Trojans' Kewan Miner, who rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Hornets to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
