Mid-State - South recap October 8, 2013
Sacred Heart Academy scaled the state rankings by moving to 299 from 338 this week, the biggest jump in Mid-State - South. The Irish climbed the ranks as a result of besting Vestaburg 24-23.
Carson City-Crystal added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Montabella, 30-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Coleman's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Adam Stremlow threw for 215 and 6 touchdowns and Zack Frazer had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Lars Murray chipped in 70 yards. Matthew Warner helped Coleman's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 63 yards.
He went 11-16 with 0 interceptions.
Stremlow put up the best numbers in passing as the Comets bested Ashley. Stremlow's favorite target this week was Frazer, who caught 3 passes for 95 yards.
Coleman's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Comets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Stremlow has thrown for 1,561 yards and 22 touchdowns this season, while Frazer has 23 catches for 472 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Carson City-Crystal takes on second place Sacred Heart Academy.
Two of the top teams in Mid-State - South will go toe-to-toe this week when Coleman takes on the Wolverines. Chad Klopf's team's offense has racked up 287 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Vestaburg has allowed only 74 on the year.
The Comets took down the Bears 71-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Stremlow ran for 19 yards during the win.
