The Halifax Academy Vikings suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 71-36 loss at the hands of Harrells Christian Academy. Halifax Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-17.
Despite the loss, Halifax Academy still got an impressive performance from Landon Peoples, who scored 15 points along with two steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Thad Harris, who scored 12 points.
Harrells Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Antonio McKoy, who scored 29 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which McKoy has scored at least a third of Harrells Christian Academy's points. Zicareian Mcneil was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Halifax Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Harrells Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.
Halifax Academy will be playing at home against Kerr-Vance Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Faith Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
