After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last eight games, The Paxton Tigers finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a serious blow against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, falling 52-0. While losing is never fun, Paxton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Sumner-Eddyville-Miller is ranked 17th).
Tanner Hebblethwaite threw for 102 yards on 14 of 24 attempts. Maddex McConnell was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards. On the ground, Gunnar Foster rushed for 51 yards.
Leading Sumner-Eddyville-Miller to victory were Jordan Scoville and Maddox Jones. Scoville rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Jones rushed for 142 yards and four touchdowns. Scoville's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.
Paxton now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Paxton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Stuart at 5:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Stuart has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 390 points over their last seven contests.
