The Jackson Fighting Indians will head out on the road to take on the Fort Zumwalt North Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Jackson was fully in charge, breezing past the Tigers 69-39 at home. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Tigers are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson relied on the efforts of Kole Deck, who scored 18 points, and Judd Thoma, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Thoma is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Blayne Harris, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Fort Zumwalt North was the victim of a rough 65-41 defeat at the hands of the Eagles on Tuesday. Fort Zumwalt North has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jackson's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Fort Zumwalt North, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Everything came up roses for Jackson against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 74-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jackson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
