For the first time this season, Fremont will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After both having extra time off, they and the Farmington Phoenix will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fremont barely beat Mountain Crest the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Silverwolves blew past the Mustangs 14-4 last Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Silverwolves as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Adee Johnsen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Johnsen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Cara Henrie was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jessica Broadbent, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.
Fremont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Farmington faced Pleasant Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. The Phoenix walked away with a 9-4 win over the Vikings. The victory was familiar territory for the Phoenix, who have now won five matches in a row.
Farmington got a massive performance out of Ruby Andrus, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Farmington pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Fremont, their win bumped their record up to 2-10.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fremont hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Farmington struggles in that department as they've averaged .408. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fremont came out on top in a nail-biter against Farmington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Silverwolves repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
