The Meadows School is a perfect 3-0 against Boulder City since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
The Meadows School's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Chaparral 19-0. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Cowboys recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Keegan Sabelko looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because The Meadows School is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Aiden Brown was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of The Meadows School's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carson Rinetti, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
The Meadows School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.
Meanwhile, Boulder City made easy work of Sunrise Mountain on Thursday and carried off a 9-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Tate Crine made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gauge Andrews was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Colten Lewis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Boulder City's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for The Meadows School, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-9.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. The Meadows School has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like Boulder City struggles in that department as they've averaged .445. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
The Meadows School took their win against Boulder City when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
