The Walker Wolverines will challenge the Marietta Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Walker will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Coosa on Monday. The Wolverines blew past the Eagles 13-1. The Wolverines not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4, 2024 (when they won 18-0).
Lily Brevick made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Brevick was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Reese Dege was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaila Figueiredo was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Walker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coosa only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Marietta made easy work of South Cobb on Wednesday and carried off a 14-2 victory.
Marietta got a massive performance out of Jordyn Cunningham, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Stewart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
The win got Marietta back to even at 1-1. As for Walker, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Walker took their win against Marietta in their previous matchup back in August of 2018 by a conclusive 12-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
