Atwater moved up to 189 from 239 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Central California Conference. The Falcons were able to move up by beating Turlock 45-20.
The Bulldogs lost to Atwater 45-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Tyrone Williams threw for 274 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 23-27 with 1 interception.
Trevante Richard was the best wideout in the league this week as Merced beat Pitman. Richard tallied 10 receptions for 137 yards. Kris Turner-jackson helped Merced's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 50 yards.
The Bears' Williams and Richard led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Williams has thrown for 1,580 yards this season, while Richard has 37 catches for 580 yards. Buhach Colony's Quintin Levesque leads the league in rushing yards with 716.
An important game coming up in Central California Conference this week will be when Bob Valladao's team takes on Merced. As it stands, the Falcons are in third, while Rob Scheidt's team is in first.
