Peak to Peak is 8-2 against Stargate School since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Peak to Peak Pumas will host the Stargate School Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Peak to Peak's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Stargate School has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Thursday, Peak to Peak strolled past Jefferson Academy with points to spare, taking the game 65-49. Given the Pumas' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Jaguars are ranked 108th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Peak to Peak's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Eschmeyer, who went 6-for-8 on his way to 19 points and three steals. What's more, Eschmeyer also posted a 71% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tysen Burton, who posted ten points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.
Peak to Peak was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson Academy only seven assists.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Stargate School ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past Bishop Machebeuf 82-79. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since January 11th.
Peak to Peak better keep an eye on Hunter Roark. He was instrumental in Stargate School's win, going 12-for-21 en route to 34 points along with eight assists and six boards. Roark's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rusch, who put up 18 points.
Peak to Peak's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Stargate School, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-10.
Peak to Peak took their victory against Stargate School when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 85-62. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Roark, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Peak to Peak still be able to contain Roark? There's only one way to find out.
