The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amherst County in their matchups with Jefferson Forest: they've now lost five in a row.
Amherst County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Austin Brooks, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Black, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Amherst County has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Jefferson Forest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
Amherst County will be playing at home against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson Forest, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-41 victory vs. Brookville on the 10th.
