Baseball Recap: McKinney Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when McKinney duked it out with Plano on Wednesday. The McKinney Lions fell just short of the Plano Wildcats by a score of 9-8. The Lions have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Tyson Todd and Matt Morris did some serious damage despite the final result: Todd scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Morris went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Todd a new career-high in runs. Eldrick Ramos was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

McKinney's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Plano, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

While McKinney had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
