Golda Och Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Weequahic by a score of 33-31. The game was a 18-18 toss-up at halftime, but Golda Och Academy couldn't quite close it out.
Weequahic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shaun Hamilton, who scored seven points. Hamilton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Tasir Barnes was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five steals.
Golda Och Academy dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Weequahic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.
Golda Och Academy and the will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Weequahic, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Panthers on January 31st. Tech has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
