Calexico had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets with points to spare, taking the game 28-12. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calexico to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sean Torres, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown. Torres got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible75 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Fernandez, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
