Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Pius X). They secured a 73-67 W over the Hope Christian Huskies on Saturday. This was payback for the Sartans, who suffered a 59-54 defeat the last time these two teams met.

St. Pius X's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Hope Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

St. Pius X will be taking part in a tournament against Cibola at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday. Cibola knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully St. Pius X likes a good challenge. As for Hope Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Mesa at 5:15 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
