3A Region IV District 27 recap September 17, 2013
Fredericksburg scaled the state rankings by moving to 433 from 510 this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region IV District 27. The Billies climbed the ranks as a result of besting Brady 34-6.
Fredericksburg took down the Bulldogs 34-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyle Grona threw for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 142 yards in the win.
Boerne's dynamic duo of David Snelling and Luke Baird proved tough for Antonian Prep to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Snelling threw for 227 yards and 3 touchdowns and Baird had 68 yards receiving. Hunter Lees helped Boerne's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 66 yards.
The Greyhounds' dynamic duo of Snelling and Baird proved to be unstoppable against the Apaches, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Snelling put up the best numbers in passing as Boerne fell to Antonian Prep.
Brennan Aguirre made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bandera lost to Llano. The 5-foot-8 senior racked up 2.0 sacks.
He was 15-23 with 0 interceptions.
Baird was the best wideout in the league this week as Mike Dormady's team lost to Van Fuschak's team.
Grona was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Paco Martinez added to the ground attack by rushing for 102 yards.
Leading 3A Region IV District 27 in both passing and receiving yards, the Greyhounds' Snelling and Lees have proven to be a lethal combination. Snelling has thrown for 748 yards this season, while Lees has 20 catches for 402 yards. Navarro's Luke Jarosewski leads the league in rushing yards with 368.
The Panthers led the league in scoring this week by notching 40 points on Holy Cross. Evan Deleon ran for 117 yards during the win.
