Aitkin had already won five in a row dating back to last season and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came out on top against the Mora Mustangs by a score of 12-8. That's more bragging rights for the Gobblers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aitkin let Haley Shereck and Kate Palm run wild. Shereck went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Palm scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Hoppe, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Aitkin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mora only posted an OBP of .333.

Aitkin's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Mora, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Aitkin will face off against East Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mora, they will head out on the road to face off against Rush City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
